The new facility will consist of four integral parts – a specialised diagnostics and triage area for evaluating emergency cases, two operating theatres plus a new standing surgery suite, a dedicated critical care unit comprising of six suites, and support space to deliver on-site teaching and education for students as well as supporting clients.

Paul Griffen, construction director at McLaughlin & Harvey, said, “To be awarded this prestigious contract for The University of Edinburgh is testament to the reputation we’ve built up for delivering high-quality developments for our clients.

“Following on from the Easter Bush Innovation Centre project and the award for the construction and fit-out of the Data Technology Institute Building, this project is our third new build development we have on-going for the University at present.”
