CHAS is the largest and fastest growing Health & Safety Assessment Scheme in the UK, and its aims are to improve health and safety standards across the UK and to reduce duplicated safety applications for both suppliers and buyers. CHAS has a web-based user friendly database of over 66,000 suppliers. CHAS accreditation avoids repeated safety pre-qualification applications, saving time and money.
CHAS is also a founder member of the SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement). CHAS currently has a team of over 120 accredited assessors who are all NEBOSH qualified, practising health and safety professionals who attend CHAS specific training on a regular basis. CHAS assessments cover a wide range of sectors including non-construction, construction and care service providers. There are currently over 820 buyers who have access to the database across both the Public and Private sectors. These include Housing Associations, Local Authorities, Main Contractors, the Education sector and the NHS sector, amongst others.
