Chair - Openreach
Brendan Dick was appointed chairman of Openreach in Scotland in August 2018, leading Openreach’s newly created Scotland Board. It brings together the company’s senior leaders to collaborate and plan investment to deliver the strongest impact, using the capability of Openreach’s 3,000 people living and working throughout Scotland.
Before that Brendan spent 35 years with BT Group, latterly as director in Scotland and Managing Director of BT UK Regions, responsible for developing and driving BT’s regional activities across Scotland, Wales and the English regions. A graduate of the University of Edinburgh, much of his early career was spent in information technology designing, developing and deploying large systems across the UK.
Brendan is President of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations; a trustee of the International Futures Forum; a Fellow of the Colleges Development Network; a Director of Scottish Golf and recent past Chair of the Scottish Council for Development and Industry.
