Senior Mechanical Engineer - BuroHappold Engineering
Catherine is a Senior Mechanical Engineer at BuroHappold Engineering, an international multi-disciplinary consultancy. She graduated with a BEng(Tech) in Building Services Engineering from Dublin Institute of Technology in 2007 and then went on to study architectural engineering at Heriot Watt University, graduating in 2010 with a MEng.
She joined BuroHappold in October 2013, where she has worked in the Edinburgh office for the past 5 years. She has been involved in a range of different projects, at different stages of design and construction. Catherine has gained a broad range of experience in leisure, cultural, commercial, science & technology, new build and refurbishment projects.
Before joining BuroHappold, Catherine worked for Blackwood Partnership where she was involved in residential, retail, commercial, new build and refurbishment projects.
Since graduating from Heriot Watt, Catherine has been assisting the 4th Year Architectural Engineering students with their design projects through one on one surgery sessions and formal lectures.
In 2015 Catherine joined the Scottish CIBSE Young Engineer Committee and has been at the forefront in organising a range of events from the CIBSE YEN (Young Engineer Network) conference site visits to CIBSE membership briefing sessions. Catherine became a charted engineer (CEng MCIBSE) in 2018.
