Supplier Development Programme (SDP)
Gillian Cameron is the Programme Manager for the Supplier Development Programme, a local authority business support organisation. She has over 20 years’ experience in public sector procurement and specialises in supplier engagement.
Gillian is passionate about supporting small businesses to grow and develop through public sector markets. Under her management, the Supplier Development Programme has grown substantially in the last 2 years to become a Scotland wide initiative, with more than 9,000 businesses accessing their tender training services.
She is a member of the Scottish Government’s Procurement Supplier Group, which aims to inform, influence and engage with procurement strategy and derive the maximum economic benefit from public sector purchasing.
Previously, Gillian was the Senior Executive Officer (Global Services division) at BiP Solutions Ltd. Specifically directing the division’s day-to-day operating activities. Throughout her time at BiP, she worked on many high profile projects including Supply2Gov, the first UK wide national contract opportunities portal, the delivery of CompeteFor.com , which was used to open up the supply chain for London2012 and several major capital infrastructure projects such as Crossrail. In addition, she was integral to the UK Ministry of Defence moving from a paper based contract publication service to a fully online service.
