Architect amd Director - Collective Architecture
Jude Barber is an architect and director at Collective Architecture. In 2018 the studio was awarded AJ Architect of the Year. The 40-strong, 100% employee-owned and controlled practice has offices in both Glasgow and Edinburgh specialising in social housing, civic buildings, green infrastructure and conservation. The practice is founded on principles of creative freedom, equity, civic participation and sustainability.
The practice has delivered several key projects around the UK including City Observatory Calton Hill for Collective Gallery, Glasgow Women’s Library in Bridgeton, Sighthill Regeneration for Glasgow Housing Association and the Barmulloch Residents Centre in Glasgow.
Jude is a member of RIBA Architects for Change Advisory Panel, an external examiner at the Department of Architecture at The University of Sheffield, a Board Member of the Glasgow Women’s Library, co-creator of Voices of Experience/The Empire Cafe and former Convenor of Saltire Society Housing Design Awards.
