Assitant Site Manager - BAM Construction
I started working within the construction industry back in 2012, I started work as a Site Administrator, and after a couple of years seeing what was all involved at site level, I was keen to get involved. I approached my Construction Director to ask how I would go about getting into Site Management and he offered me a 7 year training programme. I now attend University 1 day a week and work on site for 4 days a week. I absolutely love the job, getting to meet new people everyday and learning new things continuously. As a woman within this industry, I don’t feel that I am treated any differently. I feel that I have the respect of my colleagues and this makes me love my job even more. There aren’t many women on sites, and I think that the more we can encourage to think of construction as a career, the better!
“WE NEED MORE WOMEN! It is so important to encourage more women to join the construction industry. The industry needs fresh ideas and equality is the way they need to go.”
