Phil is a quantity surveyor by profession and has been widely involved in all types of construction from basic minor maintenance jobs to multi million pound projects. This has given him an extensive knowledge of both the construction & civil engineering industries.
For many years he was involved with the waterproofing industry and was once the MD of a major structural waterproofing company.
Phil has written papers on the Repair of Victorian Railway Tunnels using natural cement, and is a former director of the Property Care Association and is one of the authors on the PCA’s Guides to Basement Waterproofing.
He was a contributing author to the Waterproofing Existing Basements document for the Structural Waterproofing Association.
As a member of the British Tunnelling Society, he was an integral part of the working party headed by the Building Research Establishment on the Resilience of Structures to Flooding.
Phil now specialises in the origin of natural cement and its development throughout the years and is a leading authority on the technical side of natural cement as well as the benefits of its uses.
