Founding Director, Thomas Robinson Architects
Tom Robinson is a founding Director of Thomas Robinson Architects and oversees design and technical matters, finance and business development.
Tom Robinson graduated from the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture. He worked for practices such as Law and Dunbar Naismith – Edinburgh, Harvey Scott Gynn and Duff – Glasgow, Pierce Dorsey Rhohrdanz – Florida, Peter Makower Architects – London, and James G Cuthbertson Architects – Glasgow. Tom has worked on many historic buildings such as Aberuchill Castle, Sherbrooke St Gilberts Church and Christ Church Spitalfields London.
He has refurbished many country properties and Listed Buildings. The practice is now twenty years old. In that period Tom has designed a number of substantial houses for private clients and has also practiced conservation architecture as well as implementing low energy design principles. Tom is accredited in Architectural Conservation and is a European Certified Passivhaus Designer. Tom advocates traditional design principles in his own work but also appreciates and utilises the best of modernist design and modern technology.
